Choosing The Right Design To Preserve Your Precious Memories
Some Keepsake Quilts may not be the right design to preserve your precious memories. How would you feel if you received your quilt and the parts of your baby’s clothes you ‘really’ wanted were cut off and not put in your quilt? Heartbroken I bet.
Here are 3 Musts I ask my customers before choosing a Keepsake Design for their quilt:
- How much of the clothing items do you want in your Keepsake quilt? i.e., just the words on the front of the baby’s clothes or the full onesie.
- Are you planning on using the Keepsake quilt or storing it? i.e., the quilt may fall apart if it’s not meant to be used and is often washed.
- Do you want the background fabric added to your quilt to be full of colour or as plain as possible? i.e., printed material (other than your items provided) red, pink, blue, etc.)
Keepsake Strip Quilt Design With Sashing, Corner Stones & Border
This Strip Quilt Design is excellent for using any piece of your favorite fabric and colours whether they are from your babies’ clothes, your maternity clothes, or any sentimental items you want to be made into your very own keepsake quilt.
This design would not be useful if you wanted all of the item of clothing shown in the quilt. However, it is a beautiful design for a Memorial Necktie quilt.

Mateo received his quilt today and his mom, Erene, was thrilled. Mateo is only two weeks old, and of course, this quilt was not made from his old baby clothes. However, it is still a Keepsake Quilt personalized with his name hand embroidered on the front of the quilt.
This Keepsake Strip Quilt was carefully designed and sewn for daily use. It has polyester batting between the 100% cotton layers. The free motion quilting loops design will hold the quilt together and keep it from losing its shape.
A unique pattern stitched into the sashing gives it a custom look. Corners stone blocks were added to offset the neutral sashing and matching border.
Mateo will love all the bright colours in this quilt as he begins his journey with his loving mom guiding him every step of the way.
